π¦ U.S. Tariffs β Important Information for Our American Stickie Friends

Weβre so excited to open U.S. shipping again! Australia Post has now partnered with Zonos, a third-party service that collects and pays U.S. tariffs on our behalf β which means we can safely send happy mail your way again. π
Please take a moment to read the details below so you know exactly how tariffs will work moving forward.
π‘Β Quick Recap of the U.S. Tariff Changes
As of 29 August 2025, the U.S. government introduced new rules:

The $800 USD de minimis threshold has been removed.

All goods entering the U.S. now incur government-issued tariffs.

Tariff percentages vary based on the itemβs country of origin.

USPS currently canβt collect these tariffs, so the U.S. government requires sellers (like us!) to collect and pay the tariffs on your behalf at checkout.
πΒ What Youβll See at Checkout
The tariff charged depends on where each product was manufactured:

Australian-made stickers β approx. 10% tariff

U.S.-made brands β $0 tariff (yay!)

Most washi tapes (manufactured in China) β up to 30% tariff
(Tariff rates are set by the U.S. government β not us.)
When you check out, youβll see a clear line item showing the duties/tariffs for your order. These amounts are automatically calculated through Zonos and may update over time if the rules change.
The good news:
Once your order is placed, you will not owe anything further. No surprise customs fees, no extra invoices, nothing at delivery.
π§ΎΒ Where Do the Tariff Fees Go?
Great question!

Tariffs collected at checkout are paid by us to Australia Post/Zonos.

They then pay the U.S. government directly.

Stickie Planning does not profit from tariffs or keep any portion of these fees.

We also cannot remove or modify tariffs β they are a U.S. government requirement.
βοΈ Zonos also applies a small handling fee (approx. AUD $4 per parcel).
We are currently absorbing this cost so it does not get added to your order total.
π οΈ Why Reopening Took a Little Longer
Reopening U.S. shipping took some time because we wanted to make sure everything was accurate, compliant, and stress-free for you.
During this period, I was also in the middle of my university teaching practicum, which meant very limited hours to work on the back-end side of the business.
On top of that, we needed to contact every brand we stock to confirm where each of their products is manufactured, then update over 10,000+ individual listings in our system so the correct tariff rates apply at checkout. It was a massive task, but it was important to get it right for you.
We know these changes arenβt ideal β we wish stickers and washi could cross borders freely like the happy little stationery friends they are. But weβre committed to being transparent and doing everything we can to keep U.S. shipping open, smooth, and stress-free.
